Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Postpartum Doula?

A Postpartum Doula is someone who helps a family wiht a new baby adjust to their new life by providing practical, informational, and emotional support. Doulas have a positive impact on the well-being of the entire family.

I have family coming to help the week after baby is born, do I need a postpartum doula?

The answer is likely: Yes! Postpartum doulas are a resource for up-to-date non-judgmental evidence based newborn and new parent care. Postpartum Doulas are there to support the whole family; not just see the new baby. Postpartum doulas know that you are the best parents for your baby and help you see that. Postpartum doulas hold space for you to tell your story that not everyone is able to do.

What if I just want you to clean my house, can you do that?

I can help with some meal prepping and light house organization like folding laundry and putting some toys away, but  I can refer you to a house cleaner if cleaning is what you are looking for.

Do you give medical advice?

I do not. I can help you assess whether medical attention is needed and help refer you to the appropriate medical professional, but I am not a medical professional.
