"First-time moms can enroll anytime during pregnancy. Once enrolled, you receive support from your own personal nurse until your first child is age two. Participation in Bright Start is voluntary and free. It’s designed to fit varied schedules and allows for personal preferences and needs.

Shelter For Family Safety

"Children’s Home Shelter for Family Safety helps victims of domestic violence, stalking, elder abuse, sexual assault, child abuse and child neglect by providing:

-Emergency shelter

-Crisis intervention

-Counseling and support groups 

-Outreach and Advocacy

-Prevention and Education

They serve victims of abuse primarily from the South Dakota counties of Minnehaha, Lincoln, McCook, Turner and Union. All services are free and confidential."
